Scientific and Innovation Advisory Board (SIAB)
An advisory body to CITEEC that provides an independent and expert perspective on the centre’s scientific and strategic activities.
SIAB: Scientific and Innovative Consulting
The External Advisory Board, or SIAB (Scientific and Innovation Advisory Board), is the advisory board and includes at least five researchers and/or technical experts from outside the UDC, all of them internationally renowned and with extensive scientific and/or technical experience, as well as experience in managing research, innovation or technology transfer projects within CITEEC’s areas of activity.
Members of the External Advisory Committee are appointed by the Rector or Vice-Rector responsible for research, on the recommendation of the Governing Council, for a renewable term of four years.

Responsibilities of the SIAB
The External Advisory Board (SIAB) works with CITEEC, providing expert and independent advice. Its role is to guide, evaluate and propose improvements to the activities of research, innovation and knowledge transfer, thereby helping the centre to maintain the highest standards of quality and scientific relevance.
Scientific guidance
To advise the Management and the Governing Board on the definition of topics and the direction of the research carried out at the centre, as well as on any other matters deemed appropriate.
Follow-up
To advise the Management and the Governing Board on monitoring the progress of scientific research and the centre, and on the transfer of research findings.
Scientific support
To evaluate the scientific work of researchers affiliated with the centre on a regular basis and to issue the relevant evaluation reports.
New additions
To report on the interest in recruiting new senior and/or associate researchers to the centre.
Report preparation
To prepare as many reports and proposals as deemed appropriate regarding the centre’s scientific policy.
Assessment of the activity
To review the centre’s annual activity reports each year and to conduct a comprehensive review of the centre’s activities every four years.
