On April 9 and 10, 2026, the University of A Coruña will host the “3rd International Eco Concrete Conference,” an international event that will bring together researchers, industry professionals, and students to explore the latest challenges and new opportunities in sustainable, innovative, and high-performance concrete.
The event, organized by the EcoH Association and the Red Científica de Hormigón Sostenible, in addition to UDC, will take place at the School of Civil Engineering (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos), under a program that brings together keynote lectures and discussion sessions focused on concrete decarbonization, the use of alternative materials, the circular economy, and emerging technologies applied to construction.
Over the course of the two-day conference, internationally renowned experts will share their knowledge and latest advances, fostering scientific exchange and collaboration among universities, research centers, and companies in the sector. The event aims to establish itself as a leading forum in the field of sustainable concrete, contributing to the transition toward more environmentally friendly construction models.
In addition, participants will attend a guided tour on Thursday of the Research & Innovation Centre on Civil Engineering and Building (CITEEC), to which several members of the conference organizing committee are affiliated: Fernando Martínez Abella, Scientific Director of CITEEC; Belén González Fonteboa, Treasurer of the EcoH Association; and Sindy Seara Paz and Blas Cantero Chaparro, researchers at the center.
In this context, the third edition of the conference reinforces the role of the University of A Coruña as a leading institution in research and innovation in the field of civil engineering and sustainable construction at the international level.
