Vicente Adrián López Chao

Vicente López-Chao is Assistant Professor of Architectural Graphic Expression at the Universidade da Coruña. He holds two PhDs entitled Research in Architectural Graphics (UDC, 2021) and The impact of design space and other socio-physical variables in the process of teaching and learning (UDC 2017, international mention and extraordinary award). He also obtained an MEng in Representation and Design in Engineering and Architecture (UAL, 2019), an MA in Didactics (UDC, 2018), an MA in Teacher Training in Arts (UDC, 2014), a BSc in Architectural Science (2011), and a BSc in Architecture (2013) at University College Dublin.

His research focuses on human-centered design, indoor environmental quality and the use of graphic and digital methods for architectural analysis. He has published more than 25 articles in JCR indexed journals(International Journal of Architectural Heritage, EGA Expresión Gráfica Arquitectónica, Architecture, City and Environment, Diségno, Frontiers of Architectural Research, International Journal of Engineering Education, Buildings, etc.) and several book chapters with Springer.

He has held academic positions at USC, UAL, ULL and UDC, and has done research stays at the University of Oxford, Universidade do Porto and University of Thessaly. He has supervised two doctoral theses already defended and is currently supervising seven additional doctoral students.
