Soledad Muniategui Lorenzo
A graduate and PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Santiago de Compostela, she has been a Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of A Coruña since 2003. With a distinguished teaching and research career, she has coordinated the Applied Analytical Chemistry (QANAP) group since 2016, recognized as a Competitive Reference Group of the Galician University System. Her research focuses on the development of new analytical strategies and the evaluation of priority, persistent, and emerging pollutants in the environment (hydrocarbons, pharmaceuticals and personal care products, additives, plasticizers, endocrine disruptors, and metals). She pays particular attention to air, water, and marine quality, micro/nanoplastics in the environment, exposure to and bioavailability of environmental pollutants, and risk assessment.
She has participated in numerous national and international R&D projects and contracts with companies and institutions, mostly as principal investigator, and in national and international scientific networks and committees. She has held academic positions at the University of A Coruña (UDC), including Director of the University Institute of the Environment and of the Department of Analytical Chemistry. She is a member of the Spanish Society of Analytical Chemistry (SEQA) and a full member of the Royal Academy of Pharmacy of Galicia.
