Orlando García Feal
Orlando García Feal is a researcher in the field of numerical modeling and computational hydraulics, with a focus on the study and mitigation of the impacts associated with flooding. His career combines environmental physics, hydraulic engineering, and hydrology, applying high-performance computing techniques to the development of open-source models and tools for the scientific and technical community.
He is part of the development team for the Iber and DualSPHysics models. She also leads the development of Iber+, a GPU-optimized version that allows for more efficient simulation of hydrological and hydraulic phenomena. Her contributions also include the development of early warning systems, water quality models, and visualization tools, always with the aim of transferring knowledge to society and the administrations responsible for water management.
Throughout his career he has collaborated with various national and international institutions, participated in competitive research projects and combines his scientific work with university teaching, training young researchers and dissemination in environmental sciences.
