Martín Rey Furelos

I am a Civil Engineer specializing in structures. I currently work as a researcher at the University of A Coruña, in the Numerical Methods in Engineering Group, where I develop numerical methods for structural optimization.

I have a solid background in all branches of Civil Engineering, with a particular emphasis on structural analysis. I am proficient in various industry-standard and research software tools, such as SAP2000, ABAQUS, and NASTRAN. Furthermore, I have experience developing algorithms and numerical methods for solving engineering problems and analyzing data, using various programming languages ​​such as Python, FORTRAN, and C++.

I am currently developing my doctoral thesis on topological optimization of structures with advanced constraints: constraints on dynamic-structural behavior, on linear and non-linear energy instability, as well as on the stress response of the structure in a non-linear geometric regime.
