Margarita Novales Ordax

Margarita Novales is a senior university lecturer. Throughout her career, she has received four six-year research recognitions and one six-year knowledge transfer recognition, in addition to four five-year teaching recognitions. Her main areas of expertise are improving the operation of public transport systems, light rail, tram-train, and improved bus systems, and railway dynamics. She is currently working extensively on big data analytics to improve public transport and mobility, research with a strong interdisciplinary focus. She has participated in numerous competitive research projects, as well as numerous contracts with companies and institutions, serving as principal investigator on many of them. She has received five awards for her research activities. She is co-director of the Sustainable Mobility Laboratory and coordinator of the Railways and Transport Group at the University of A Coruña. She is the Treasurer of the Transport Engineering Forum (FIT) and co-coordinator of the Mobility and Intelligent Transport working group of the CRUSOE Network. She was, for 5 years, the Chair of the Subcommittee on International Developments in Light Rail Transit of the Transportation Research Board (TRB).
