Luis Ramírez Palacios

I hold a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of A Coruña (2015). My research focuses on the development of high-precision numerical methods in CFD, both meshed and meshless. Specifically, I apply these methods to the numerical simulation of turbomachinery and acoustic propagation problems. As a result, I have authored 34 articles in JCR-indexed journals and seven book chapters. I have also authored over 50 conference papers.

I have co-supervised two doctoral theses, defended in 2022, and five technical projects in the field of computational mechanics. I am currently co-supervising two doctoral theses, with defenses scheduled for the end of 2025.

I have completed five research stays at internationally renowned centers with a total duration of 12 months: Arts et Métiers ParisTech in 2013, 2014 and 2024; Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2015 and Cardiff University in 2020.

I have been a co-principal investigator on four research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and also a co-principal investigator on a research project funded by the European Investment Bank. In addition, I have participated as a researcher in nine R&D projects and four research contracts with companies.
