Luis Fuentes García

I hold a degree in Mathematics from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) (Extraordinary Degree Award 1998). I completed my doctoral studies in the Department of Algebra at the Faculty of Mathematics of the USC, culminating in the defense of my doctoral thesis in 2002, supervised by Professor Manuel Pedreira, which received the highest distinction, Summa Cum Laude. Since 2007, I have been a tenured lecturer at the University of A Coruña.

I have published 31 articles in international journals, related to my two main lines of research:

– Algebraic Geometry. I have continued my studies on Ruled Surfaces, which I began in my doctoral thesis. I also investigate linear systems on algebraic surfaces, Seshadri constants, and algebraic varieties.

– Analysis and probability applied to economics and social sciences. In 2008, Professor Martín Egozcue (PhD in Economics from the University of the Republic, Uruguay) contacted me to work with him as a mathematics expert, specializing in the application of probability and analysis to economics and other social sciences. The collaboration has been fruitful, and we have published numerous works in these fields.
