Luis Esteban Romera Rodríguez

I hold a PhD in Industrial Engineering specializing in structural design and analysis. Currently, I coordinate the Structural Mechanics research group at the University of A Coruña (UDC) and am responsible for the structural dynamics laboratory and impact tower at CITEEC. My main research areas are the design and optimization of structures under impact, seismic design, the analysis of historical structures, and biomechanics, all of which involve numerical simulations and experimental testing. The most relevant research projects I participate in focus on the optimization of aeronautical and civil structures under static, dynamic, and impact loads. In collaboration with companies, I work on research projects for the development of new hybrid wind turbine tower structures (Nordex, Acciona Energía), the development of new aeronautical structures (Airbus), and collaborations with numerous companies in various fields of structural engineering (Navantia, Ferrovial, SolarSteel, Puentes y Calzadas).
