Juan Ramón Rabuñal Dopico

University Professor since 2000, Assistant Professor since 2006, Associate Professor since 2010, and Full Professor since 2018. In 2002, he obtained his PhD in Computer Science and in 2008 his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of A Coruña, receiving the Extraordinary Doctoral Award. Since 2000, his research has focused on Artificial Intelligence, specifically Artificial Neural Networks and Evolutionary Computation. Since 2006, he has applied these techniques to various fields within Civil Engineering (Construction, Hydraulics, Hydrology, and Ports and Coasts) and instrumentation (sensors and automation). In these lines of research, he has participated as a member of the research team in more than 70 projects funded at the European, national, and regional levels (more than €8 million), has participated in more than 65 agreements and contracts with companies and institutions (€3 million), and is a co-author of more than 100 scientific publications. From 2006 to 2023, he was Coordinator and Director of CITEEC, and from 2024 to the present, he has held the position of Technical Director.
