José Sande González-Cela
He has been a researcher at CITEEC since 2011, working in the laboratories of the multidirectional basin and the wave channel. He is also a member of the Water and Environmental Engineering Group (GEAMA). His main line of research focuses on the optimization of port and coastal structures through physical model testing and field campaigns. The parameters studied and analyzed include the stability of protective layers and structural components, the stability of transitions in breakwaters, wave-infrastructure interaction phenomena, port swell, and finally, the structural and hydrodynamic behavior of unique structures. He has participated in more than 10 competitive projects and 49 R&D agreements, serving as principal investigator in more than half of them. He has 28 scientific papers indexed in Scopus and an h-index of 8. Since 2014, he has combined research with teaching hydraulics and supervising doctoral theses. Its objective is to promote applied research, foster sustainability and improve the efficiency of port infrastructure through collaboration with academia, industry and government.
