Iván Couceiro Aguiar

I am a Civil Engineer (Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos) and hold a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of A Coruña, with more than 10 years of experience as a researcher and lecturer in the field of Computational Mechanics applied to method development and problem-solving in engineering. My research activity mainly focuses on the development and application of numerical methods for structural optimization, with a particular emphasis on offshore steel structures, the topic of my PhD thesis, which received a national award from ANCI. I have also made significant contributions to Computational Fluid Dynamics. I am the author of 18 JCR-indexed articles (14 of them Q1). In addition, I am the principal investigator of a national research project and have participated as a researcher in 13 other projects.
