Carmen María Moscoso Pérez
Carmen Mª Moscoso Pérez holds a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Santiago de Compostela (1998) and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of A Coruña (2003). She completed her doctoral studies under the supervision of Professors Jorge Moreda Piñeiro, Esther Fernández Fernández, and Darío Prada Rodríguez. Subsequently, she obtained a postdoctoral fellowship in the Plasma Mass Spectrometry Unit of the Research Support Services (SAI) at the University of A Coruña. She also worked as a laboratory analyst at SGS Española de Control, where she performed analyses of chemical compounds using advanced techniques such as HPLC-MS, GC-MS, and ICP-MS.
With over 20 years of research experience, she has specialized in the analysis of environmental pollutants and the characterization of microplastics. She has participated in numerous research projects, contributing to the publication of many articles in international journals and a book, and has presented at multiple conferences. She also has teaching experience. Her career achievements earned her the Ernesto Viéitez Cortizo Research Award in 2023.
Currently, she is part of the Applied Analytical Chemistry Group (QANAP) at the University of A Coruña, focusing her research on environmental pollutants, microplastics, validation of analytical methods, sustainability and risk assessment.
