Antonio José Álvarez Naveira

My main field of research is Wind Engineering, having studied the aeroelastic response of multi-box girder bridge decks, primarily to vortex-induced vibrations. My PhD was funded through an FPI grant (BIA2013-41965), which allowed me to undertake a four-month research stay (EEBB-I-17-11905 grant) at the University of Nottingham (UK). After completing my PhD, I received a postdoctoral fellowship from the Xunta de Galicia, associated with a Fulbright grant (EEBB-I-17-11905), which enabled me to spend two years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), where I began researching wind turbines and the application of machine learning.

Ao longo da miña carreira investigadora participei en distintos proxectos de investigación, o que me permitiu colaborar con distintos investigadores internacionais e levar a cabo campañas de túnel de vento no WindEEE (Western University, London, Canada), o túnel de vento Giovanni Solari (University of Genoa, Italia), e no túnel de vento climático do Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (Nantes, Francia), alén dos levados a cabo nas instalacións do CITEEC.

Recentemente o meu campo de investigación está a estenderse á estimación de velocidades de vento a través de imaxes de satélite para locaciones offshore, realizando unha estancia no Laboratório Nacional de Energia e Geologia (Lisboa, Portugal) para formarme na devandita materia.
