Xesús Nogueira Garea

A Full Professor at the University of A Coruña since October 2022, my main research focuses on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), with particular attention to high-order methods for compressible turbulent flows and their applications in turbomachinery. My work has resulted in 49 articles indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), an h-index of 20, and over 1200 citations.

I have been Principal Investigator on four national projects and have established strong international collaborations with researchers from institutions such as Arts et Métiers ParisTech and Cranfield University, resulting in numerous joint publications and the development of open-source software. My contributions have been recognized with the 2016 Juan Carlos Simó Award for best young researcher and a national award for my doctoral thesis in 2009. I have successfully supervised three PhD students who now hold academic positions. In addition, I am a journal editor, a project evaluator for international agencies, and a member of the executive committee of a joint research laboratory with Arts et Métiers ParisTech.
