Doctor of Civil Engineering, Technical Engineer of Public Works and Technician in occupational risk prevention, from the University of A Coruña. Doctoral thesis with international mention “Effect of delayed deformations on the structural response to bending and analysis of the bond behavior of recycled concrete”.

Full Professor in the area of ​​Construction Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of A Coruña. Affiliated with the gCons Construction Group at the University of A Coruña since May 2009. Participation in numerous competitive research projects and agreements with companies in the field of concrete and sustainable construction, incorporation of waste and by-products from industry into cement-based materials, characterization in fresh and hardened concrete, rheology, internal curing, self-healing techniques, 3D printing, concrete prefabrication, structural behavior, and adhesion in concrete structures.

More than 30 publications in indexed journals, book chapters, and presentations at national and international conferences. Member of national and international committees for the development of recommendations and application guidelines for structural concretes with recycled aggregate from construction and demolition waste and the adaptation of international regulations to Spanish standards.
