Pablo Guindos Bretones
Dr. Pablo Guindos specializes in the structural design and construction of timber structures. He is currently a Ramón y Cajal research fellow in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Aeronautical Construction and Structures at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of the University of A Coruña (UDC) and an associate researcher at CITEEC.
Pablo has been working with wood since 2008, and from 2012 to 2023 he specialized abroad, first in Germany; 5 years, at Fraunhofer, TU Brausnchweig and professor of calculus at Hochschule Hildesheim, and then in Chile; first as a professor and later director of the UC Center for Innovation in Wood (CIM UC-CORMA) and director of the National Center of Excellence for the Wood Industry (CENAMAD).
In education, he has contributed five books on timber design and created professional courses and diploma programs in timber. He has supervised five doctoral theses (completed) and is currently supervising another five. In research, he has published over 60 scientific articles indexed in the Web of Science and led more than 20 projects as principal investigator. Professionally, he has designed several timber buildings as a structural engineer and participated in the conception, design, and construction of several iconic timber structures.
