Nachatter Singh Kaur

Nachatter Singh holds a PhD in Demography from the Centre for Demographic Studies and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), with the highest possible grade (Excellent/A), Cum Laude distinction, and an international doctoral research component. He currently works as a postdoctoral researcher on the EU-funded project: TRIGGER Solutions for Mitigating Climate-Induced Health Threats, which studies the impact of climate change on health.

In the last five years, he has worked on three EU-funded projects, four R&D projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, two national projects funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia de Lisboa (Portugal), and several regional projects funded by local administrations.

His research interests include demographic analysis, migration studies, urban and housing studies, climate change, quantitative, qualitative and spatial data analysis, as well as gender studies.

In 2024, he received the II Xoán Vicente Viqueira Award for Research in Social Sciences, Humanities, Sustainability and Innovation, in the category of Scientific Innovation Award, granted by the Provincial Council of A Coruña.
