María Piñeiro Iglesias
Maria Piñeiro Iglesias is an expert in analytical and environmental chemistry. She is a Senior Technician in Analytical Instrumentation (A1 civil servant) and the Quality Manager at the laboratory of the University Institute of the Environment (IUMA) at the University of A Coruña (UDC).
His work and research are conducted within the Applied Analytical Chemistry Research Group (QANAP) at the UDC, a Competitive Reference Group within the Galician University System. He specializes in monitoring organic and inorganic pollutants, with a particular focus on air quality.
Dr. Piñeiro earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry with High Honors from the UDC, focusing on methods for analyzing hydrocarbons in the air and characterizing atmospheric particulate matter. She has supervised three doctoral theses and is the author of 30 publications in scientific journals and more than 60 presentations at national and international conferences.
His experience includes the supervision of radioactive facilities, the development of analytical methodologies, and participation in numerous competitive R&D&I projects, research networks, and collaborations with the industrial and public sectors. In addition, he has supervised master’s theses, undergraduate theses, and internships for both undergraduate and graduate students, taught courses, and participated in science outreach activities.
