Juan José Galán Díaz

Juan José Galán Díaz is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Naval and Industrial Engineering at the University of A Coruña, where he works in the area of ​​Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering and is a member of the CGM research group at CITEEC. His career combines several lines of work: the study of metallic materials and their behavior in the face of corrosion processes, the evaluation of sustainability in engineering using indicators such as carbon footprint, and research on surfactants and micellar properties, a field in which he has made significant contributions to understanding their applications and physicochemical phenomena.

He has published numerous articles in international scientific journals and book chapters, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in both applied fields and educational innovation. He has supervised doctoral theses on marine corrosion of ferrous alloys and on educational methodologies in engineering. He has also participated in competitive research projects and served on doctoral thesis committees related to materials, sustainability, and emerging technologies.

His work is characterized by integrating research, teaching and knowledge transfer, with a constant commitment to improving training in science and engineering and strengthening the connection between university and society.
