Ignacio Pérez Pérez

Professor Ignacio Pérez Pérez is a civil engineer with over 40 years of experience in transport engineering and infrastructure. He is currently a Professor at the University of A Coruña, where he has been a leading figure in research and teaching related to road pavement materials.

He obtained his doctorate from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (1996), after a successful period in the construction sector (1985-1993), in which he participated in important infrastructure projects, including highways, high-speed rail lines and urban transport systems.

Professor Pérez has supervised six doctoral theses that have received national awards and has played a key role in the creation of advanced laboratories at the CITEEC research center. His international collaborations include research stays in the United Kingdom and Portugal.

His research focuses on the mechanical behavior of bituminous mixtures, recycled materials, and sustainable pavement technologies. He has published over 100 articles in prestigious international journals, coordinated numerous national and European research projects, and holds three patents for innovative paving technologies.
