Francisco Sebastián Ruz Quiroga

I specialize in structural design and the construction of wooden structures. I work in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Aeronautical Engineering, where I serve as a full-time researcher.

At the same time, I am pursuing the Official Doctoral Program in Architecture and Urban Planning within the Architectural Structures Research Group (GEA) at the UDC. My doctoral research focuses on global trends in sustainable construction, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies, drawing on developments in CNC, robotics, and parametric modeling.

My interests span both research and professional practice. In the academic sphere, I have participated in various research projects in seismic and civil engineering. In my professional practice, I have collaborated on the design of numerous wooden buildings and have been involved in the conception, design, and construction of projects that incorporate different building systems.
